H Λαίδη Αυγούστα ήταν Μαθηματικός και είχε μελετήσει την Αναλυτική Μηχανή του Charles Babbage. Εντυπωσιασμένη από τις δυνατότητες του επαναστατικού -αν και ανέφικτου στην κατασκευή- υπολογιστή, σχεδίασε τον πρώτο αλγόριθμο που θα μπορούσε να τρέξει στην Αναλυτική Μηχανή. Θεωρείται το πρώτο άτομο που προγραμάτισε υπολογιστή.

Lady Augusta of Lovelace was a Mathematician. She studied the designs of the Analytical Engine and was impressed by the potential of such a machine -even though it was not possible to be created the time. She published the first algorithm for the computer, and is regarded as the first computer programmer.
